Yee Haw! Dips in Nashville!

Hey Ya'll!  While I was down in Nashville visiting my Kel Bells with my friend Yaya, I thought I'd make a dip while we were enjoying the fresh air of the country.  Below is my recipe for my Beer Buckling Cheddar Dip.

Below are all the ingredients that make this dip.
You will need:
1 packet of dry Ranch spices
1/2 bottle of beer ( I used one that brews in Nashville, you choose!)
1 block of cream cheese
1 1/2 cup of shredded cheddar cheese
Prezels to dip with

Combine the cream cheese (softened) in a bowl with the Ranch packet and 1 cup of the shredded cheese.

Once you mix well with a fork, you will add this mixture into a blender.  I used a Magic Bullet, but you can use whatever you have available that will mix.  As you add the mixture to the blender, I added the other 1/2 cup of cheddaer cheese and the beer slowly.  If you add the beer too quickly, it will bubble and over flow.

You might have to do the dip in different batches.  While you mix, it should look like this.

Once you combine all the batches, mix together in a bowl.  This should make about 3 cups of dip once blended.  Once mixed together, place in the fridge for about an hour to chill it.

Once served, serve with a bowl of prezels and of course more beer!
Enjoy from Nashville!

Yum: Buffalo Chicken Dip with Ranch

This is one of my favorite dips, since it is spicy!
This is always a crowd pleaser for any event, especially anything sports related.

Below are all the ingredients that make this dip.
You will need:

1 block of cream cheese
3 cooked chicken breasts (in the over)
1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese
3/4 cup of Ranch dressing
1 cup of Franks Hot Sauce, Buffalo Style

Add the chicken and the cream cheese into a bowl and mix well with a fork.

Once mixed, add the shredded cheese & Ranch.

Then add the hot sauce.  I use about a cup, but you add as much as you would like.  More or less!

Mix well.  Then spread evenly into a oven safe pan, such as a pice dish.  Top with shredded cheese and drizzle hot sauce on top to add a extra kick!  Crack some pepper on top as well.  Put in the oven on 350 degrees for about 15-20 minutes until the edges are browned.

Serve with sticks of celery.  Adds something healthy!  You can also serve with chips or sliced
baguettes.

Enjoy and dip in!  Make sure you cut enough celery, this makes a big batch!

Cinco De Mayo: My Best Dip First

Since today is Cinco De Mayo, I thought I would go with a Mexican theme for my first dip.  It happens to be that my most prized recipe, has a Mexican flare to it.  The first dip is the Corn Dip.  Let's start in since I know many of you have been waiting for this recipe!

Below are all the ingredients that make this dip.
You will need:
1 cup of Mayonnaise
2 cups of frozen corn
1 bag of shredded monetary jack cheese
1 can of green chilies
1 cup of diced cherry tomatoes
Salt and pepper

First you combine the mayo and cheese in a bowl.  Then add corn.  While mixing, preheat the oven at 350 degrees.

Once you have mixed the 3 ingredients, add the chili peppers.

Mix well and add salt and pepper to your liking.  Once it is mixed well, use a oven safe dish to spread the mixture evenly.  Next top with the diced cherry tomatoes and cracked pepper.  You can also top with diced green or red peppers.

Cook the dip for about 20 minutes.  The edges should be bubbling and browned.

Serve with tortilla chips.  I prefer either blue chips or whole wheat.

Dip into and enjoy!  Mine is already gone!

Let's Dip In!

After numerous requests for all my dip recipes, I have given in.  My friends call me Mama Mellor, even though now I should be called Mama Hoagland since I am now married, that's besides the dip point.  I am here to share my indepth dip recipes with all my family, friends and anyone who is interested about my dips.

I can't promise you that you won't feel sick after eating the whole pan, because you will and not want to admit it.  I can't promise you that dips won't become a dinner once in a while.  I can't promise you that your friends won't beg to come over so they can have some dips.  Lastly I can't promise these are all healthy, most of the time I tell my friends to look away while I make it so they don't see what I am putting into them.  I can promise however, that you will enjoy them all!

I will share with you my secrets to what to put in them, prepare and cook or bake them.  I will tell you what to pair them with and the perfect event or party to serve them at!  I will cut calories when I can, but let's be honest how can you cut a whole block of cream cheese out of a recipe?  All the dips shared will use fresh veggies, fruits, dairy, meats and yes lot's of cheese!  The recipes will start soon!  Get hungry and dip in!

Dip in and enjoy!
